Fertilizer is used to boost crop growth and stats. For Fertilizer to apply the listed effect, it must be placed on tilled soil before the seed has finished its final growth stage. Fertilizer will only apply an effect to reharvestable crops if you re-place it after its final growth stage.
Fertilizer can be purchased at the General Store. Fertilizers can also be crafted once the required crafting recipe is unlocked via the Agriculture section of the skill tree. Fertilizers can only be crafted with a Compost Bin. The crafting recipe for the Compost Bin is acquired by completing the quest Alchemy Request: Birthdaeus Giftarium.

The effect of the fertilizer is equal to 1.5x the stat of the crop it is used on
